Winter has reared its lovely head once again in Rossland BC and that means a celebration is in order. The Blizzard Music Festival descends upon the town for the fourth year in a row with more powder than every before, showcasing talent from across Canada, Europe and the USA against a backdrop of snow and ice.
From its humble beginnings as a grass-roots homage to winter, The Blizzard has come into its own as one of the premier music festivals. Founded in 2007 by Jonathan Provencal and the Tuques, The Blizzard has since then amassed a formidable list of allies including Red Mtn Resort, The Rossland Winter Carnival, All-Hits KBS Radio, Kootenay Rockies and the Nelson Brewing Company. With both the Canadian Open Freeskiing Championships at RED and Rossland's 113th Winter Carnival in full swing simultaneously, this year's Blizzard promises to be the biggest and snowiest party to blow through British Columbia in a decade.
Highlights for 2010 include an outdoor stage and beer garden with DJs and live performers, the running of the Olympic Torch through Rossland on Sunday, January 24th and the Party on Saturday, January 23rd. Tickets won't last long so get yours today!
