Beach Party Weekend at Whitewater Ski Resort

With the spring conditions sure to bring out summer spirits, the Beach Party Weekend is planned for the last weekend of operation - April 10th & 11th in Nelson at Whitewater Ski Resort.

The weekend will be sure to send off the season in style, and give thanks to Ull'r for a great winter! The celebrations will also help us ensure next season brings lots of dry, Kootenay powder that Whitewater is famous for.

The big send-off is set for Sunday, with the famous Big Splash Slush Cup and the Dummy Downhill Race. The annual Big Splash Cup starts at 1pm and will take contestants down the second half of Bonanza and through a giant slush pond - who can stay afloat, impress the judges and ski/board to the other side to compete for some sweet prizes! If you're looking to compete - sign up at the Guest Services desk on the mountain in the morning - first come, first available.

The Dummy Downhill Race at 4pm consists of dummies on skies (be as creative as you like!) that staff and locals have been working on all season long, coming down a run on the Summit side. The prize is bragging rights...until next season! If you've got an idea for a dummy, please check out Whitewater's website for rules and regulations.

Throughout the afternoon, Nelson's local Sumba band will be playing traditional Brazilian rhythms around the resort, helping us enjoy the last runs of the season, shake off the snow and say so-long to a fabulous winter season at Whitewater Ski Resort!
