Nonstop Adventure at the Fernie Alpine Resort

The Fernie Alpine Resort is scheduled to open for the summer season on Saturday, June 26, 2010. Featuring an amazing lift-accessed Bike Park as well as a variety of hiking and sight-seeing from both the Timber Express & Elk Quad Chair. Bike camps for women and children from beginner to advance levels will be available throughout the summer, along with a Thursday night series for the competitive-type for all ages.

New this year, the Fernie Alpine Resort will host NONSTOP Adventure from the UK for their first ever Mountain Bike program in the Canadian Rockies. This four week experience will take place from July 26 - August 23, 2010 and is aimed at UK travellers with a desire to advance their all mountain and downhill biking skills while enjoying an extended holiday in Fernie.

The four-week summer program, along with an optional fifth week BC Road Trip, contains high level coaching and the opportunity to qualify as an instructor.  The aim of the program is to transform you into an accomplished 'all mountain & downhill rider'. The local team of pros will give you 80 hours of coaching over the course, plus show you around some of the world's best trails from the very first day. By boosting your skills on single track, tight turns, logs, skinnies, jumps, drops and climbs - they will have your riding the whole mountain with confidence and style.

The program is available to all types of riders, from novice & upwards. It is ideal for those taking a career break and for those wanting an extended holiday in an amazing location. It's perfect for those hoping to join the mountain biking industry, with a two-day Trail Building course included in the program and a three-day MBIT Instructor course offered too. Plus, they will be hosting weekly technical session that will help you learn more about your bike and its maintenance, your fitness and the environment in which you ride.

With nearly 70 varied trails, Fernie is the ideal location for this program. From greens to triple blacks and a range of lift-accessed downhill and all mountain riding, there is something for every stage of your progression!
