Established in 1986, Golden Alpine Holidays (GAH) was Canada's first helicopter accessed backcountry skiing and hiking operator. This jaw dropping mountainous playground is located in the Esplanade Range with the famed northern Selkirk Mountains. As the name suggests the Esplanades are connected by a series of ridges allowing easy alpine access over great distances thus a perfect place to build four lodges.
The original three lodges; Sunrise, Meadow & Vista have room for up to 15 guests. All three lodges have recently been extensively renovated and refurbished. Distances between each lodge are less than 10 kilometers. Sentry Mountain Lodge was constructed in 2001. Situated in the northern Esplanades it quickly became a fan favourite of a new generation of adventure seekers. Boasting a micro-hydro electrical system, indoor plumbing and spacious interior Sentry set the bar for the rest of the pack. Destroyed by fire, a new Sentry is currently under construction and GAH is now taking bookings for this upcoming ski season.
